Relevant fashion/ styling

I love Iggy Azalea's style, it is unique and her expressions and outfits reflect attitude. She is suited to hip-hop through both her music and styling as she wears the classic gold chains, baggy jackets and skin tight, short dresses. I particularly like the gold jewellery and blonde hair to portray a trashy image despite being incredibly talented and loved by many. Her revealing clothes give off this impression and would be relevant for Bass Junkie as it is a Hip Hop mag with 'inappropriate' content.

A snapback would be a suitable garment as this creates a more informal, urban image which relates to hip-hop music. The images above display girls wearing the snapback backwards, I like this idea. I also like the look of the long hair on the women as it suits the snapback and complements the outfit. The girls appear chilled out with no stress, this is the impression I wish to give through my images for Bass Junkie. Brands such as 'Obey' would be relevant as they are down the mainstream root which is often taken by those with a love for hip-hop; the popular brands suggest quality and the desire to keep up-to-date. The 'chav' image is portrayed to those subjected to these images as the snapback, strong colours and tight clothing conforms to this stereotype.

The simple, white t-shirt contrasts with the colour of his skin and looks fresh. I aim for this 'fresh' and 'crisp' style of clothing in my images as I feel this appears more professional and stylish. The male above expresses a careless attitude in the image by the inappropriate hand gestures which may be offensive to some- this  is included in the content I aim to put inside issues of Bass Junkie to appeal to the target audience effectively. He also has a humorous expression on his face-I like this idea.

Basic colours.

Baggy trousers/'pants' are suited to my genre of hip-hop music as they reflect a careless attitude. Often, Jay Z and other well known hip-hop artists are seen wearing these. I feel baggy trousers would be more suited to a male model. It expresses a sense of freedom and personality which would create mood for the audience.

Black and white is often used for the styling of artists of the hip hop genre. This does not give much away and therefore creates a sense of mystery for the audience which may appeal to them and intrigue them to develop further knowledge. The black and white clothing and/or filter on images creates an urban, rough feel which is relevant for hip hop styling.

A crop top would be a relevant item of clothing for a female model featured inside Bass Junkie as it would be suited for the sexual/inappropriate content side of the mag as well as appealing to males through the male gaze theory and creating an urban feel. I feel a cropped tee would express and reflect attitude and interest the reader. It suggests an informal style also which is intended with Bass Junkie.
