Other text- 10 covers

On this issue of Clash magazine, I like the alternative style image as the model appears dazed, futuristic and edgy.
I also like the style of the cover line: "Bombshell" as it is eccentric and stylish.

This cover of Vogue uses a greyscale, monotone colour scheme which is different to their usual type of cover. Simple yet effective. Stylish with a vintage look.

The cover line is curvy and smooth.
However I would have liked to see this a colour which would break up the dull colours and catch the eye. A feminine colour would look appealing and relevant to target audience!

i-D use two images and combine them together in the correct place to create a futuristic look which is quirky, different and the clashing colours draw attention.

I like the trademark of the model's having to cover one eye in some way-consistent.

Simple cover line- vague. Sense of mystery.

Another i-D cover!
Drawn to the masthead as this stands out. Contrasting colours are kept consistent.
Pull-quote entices reader to look inside and gain more knowledge.

Vice is one of my favourites.
Humorous, interesting and different take on models and poses for the front cover.

Informal text-language register is low to suit teenage target market.

Bright, bold, one colour background is eye catching.
The red heart is a contrasting colour to make the cover more appealing and interesting.

Incorporating monotone colours-black and white.
These two are famous, common colour combinations as they complement each other, stand out and are bold.

The image appears vintage, traditional and stylish.

Emotion in the image.

The text type is bold and kept consistent. Text stands out.

Bold, bright background definitely stands out.
Simple and effective.
Appealing-contrasting, bright colours.
Visible text.

This is the type of genre I intend to design my magazine around.

Basic, vague cover line creates interest & mystery.

Nothing given away from model; no expression.

Pink, Black & White.

Masthead is clear and easy to read. Would be recognisable.

Model-Nicki Minaj is unique and a bold character- colourful hair is a feature which is not classed as the 'norm'. This allows it to be noticed.

All text is easy to ready.

However too much negative space I feel- too spacious.

This is an indie genre magazine cover- I like this style.
The model is different to othrs and challenges the stereotype of women covergirls.

I like the fact her hair stands out and is made a point of focus-interesting.

Clothes she is wearing are indie and different from the norm.

Text is easy to read and masthead is noticeable-bold
